Virtue Field at Archie Post Athletic Complex
A gift from James Edward “Ted” and Danielle “Dani” Virtue of Rye, N.Y., funded construction of the new synthetic turf field. Virtue Field, as the new facility will be called, will serve as the home for the UVM men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's soccer teams and will also be used for campus recreation activities begining in the spring of 2012.
The turf surface, which is part of the overall Archie Post Athletic Complex, is the first phase of a planned stadium project that will include grandstand seating for 3,000 spectators, game-day locker rooms, public restrooms, concessions, and storage space.
Phase one of construction includes the field installation, perimeter fencing, temporary seating, and a scoreboard. The 127x87-yard surface is made of Revolution fiber manufactured by FieldTurf, which the company says is the most durable of its kind. A patented FieldTurf infill formula ensures player safety and is one of the most player-friendly surfaces on the market.

Vermont Indoor Turf Facility
-
In January 2011, the University of Vermont Athletic Department unveiled a renovated space at its Patrick Gymnasium complex. The Multi-Purpose Facility has been repurposed into an indoor turf facility for the winter months.
-
"The installation of indoor artificial turf will help us address some of the winter weather challenges which we face in Vermont," said Dr. Robert Corran, Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics at Vermont.
-
The facility, which was funded through a combination of private donations and department funds, has been transformed into a 300x100 foot indoor turf area. The surface is comprised of 1,064 panels of Nexxfield XGen.E2 turf.
-
The entire campus community, as well as varsity sports programs will use the facility. UVM's Campus Recreation department will hold various activities on the turf and the men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse programs, will be able to train throughout the winter months.
